Discover Our Wetlands

From freshwater swamps and reedbeds to saltmarsh and mudflats

Please note that the Viewing Tower is closed due to COVID-19 at present.

The most iconic feature of the Wetlands. No visit to the Wetlands is complete without a visit to our 20 Metre High Viewing Tower. From here you can get a 3600 view of  the surrounding area and location. From here you can see all of the further Tralee Bay as far as Fenit Harbour and on clear days you can see ships docked. We have a large range of areas and landscapes like the Slieve Mish Mountains, Blenerville Windmill and the Tralee's Canal and Walkway. In the town of Tralee the highest building is the St. John's Church, Tralee's very own indoor swimming pool, Aqua Dome and behind the entire town the Stack Mountains, one of 9 conservation sites in Ireland for the counties most endangered bird the Curlew at 150 pairs left nationwide.
