Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park were delighted to join Cara Credit Union and the wonderful students of Clogher National School for a hands on biodiversity day last week.
Philip Lynch, Marketing Officer from Cara Credit Union and our own Alan Balfe, Senior Ecologist from Tralee Bay Wetlands spent the morning with the students exploring their school garden, learning about pollinators, and getting properly muddy planting young trees.
Clogher NS is one of five primary schools selected by Cara Credit Union to take part in this year’s biodiversity initiative , a fantastic programme that recognises the urgency of the biodiversity and climate crises and supports real, proactive change in our communities.
During each visit, Alan shares insights on pollinators, food security, and the importance of native planting, while guiding students through how to plant and care for their new trees.
Big thanks to Cara Credit Union for championing biodiversity once again this year and to the students, teachers, for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and getting their hands muddy!
