Examples of Pollinators

The definition of a pollinator is an animal that moves pollen from one plant to another, which allows plants to fertilise their seeds.

Pollinators are currently under threat from pesticides, loss of habitats including wildflower meadows, invasive species and climate change.

Pollinators face many challenges, which include the loss of their interconnected habitats, such as natural meadows, wetlands and hedges. Other challenges are the use of pesticides, invasive species and accelerated climate change.

Come along to the Kerry Wild Bee Festival and discover how our actions can help make our gardens, farms and communities more friendly to these precious pollinators!
