Mute Swan

Mute swans like humans tend to mate for life. They are also protected under the English crown and it is an offence to kill or eat one of her majesties birds.

Clover

Clover is good for pollinators and other plants. Clover is known as a nitrogen fixer and fixes nitrogen by using the bacteria that lives in its roots - rhizobium to do so. This nitrogen benefits all other plants in the vacinity.

Bats

There are 9 species of bat in Ireland. Their eyesight is actually very good and along with their Echolocation, this makes them efficient predators as they can home in on moths and flies.

Mallards

Mallards are the most common water foul in Ireland. Males always have a green iridescent head while the female is a mixture of brown colours which help her hide from predators.
