We’re excited to welcome everyone back to Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park for another hands‑on citizen science adventure as part of our 2026 Bee Survey Series on Wednesday, 9th September.
Join Senior Ecologist Alan Balfe for an engaging outdoor session where we’ll explore the fascinating world of Ireland’s native bees and the wildflowers they rely on. Alan will guide participants through the Park, helping you learn how to spot, identify and understand the different species of bumblebees found in Ireland.
Together, we’ll search for bees, record our sightings and submit our findings to Biodiversity Ireland, contributing valuable data that supports the protection of these essential pollinators. Whether you’re a curious beginner or a returning regular, this is a wonderful opportunity to deepen your knowledge and enjoy nature up close.
This is the perfect event if you’re interested in learning how to identify and record bees, even in your own garden.
